What to do when you cannot send emails |
|
When you setup your Indigo Cat email (or other email accounts, ie: google mail, yahoo mail, that are not your ISP email account).
And find that you cannot send emails, then it's a good idea to check with your Internet Service Provider, to see if they are blocking the smtp port.
- out going email use this port (normally port 25), but some ISP's block this port, for all email servers but their own.
- This is done to help stop virus/trojans from emailing themselves out from your computer).
If this is the case then in your email settings you will need to put your ISP's out going email in instead of the one Indigo Cat (or other) provided.(See below for typical outgoing settings)
For Outlook, Outlook Express and OS X Mail users, We should be able to walk you through fixing this issue over the phone - if you find you are not able to see where this setting is.
